Mamma Mia! Boise Theatre reviews
Mamma Mia was not as good as first performance
I saw Mamma Mia when it came to the Embassy 8 or 9 years ago, and I had taken my daughter and a couple of her friends back then... There was so much more upbeat singing and performing by the actresses, the audience at that time could barely contain themselves, in fact some ladies were actually dancing a little in the isles for fun. I remember moving to the beat of the music in my seat the whole time with all that Fabulous Abba music..It was so great!.
Due to the fact that the performance I saw the first time was so outstanding, I took my mother to the performance that was just here again on Monday, and told her what to expect...needless to say I was so confused and disappointed when the mood and excitement level was not there .. it was mostly quiet and somber in the crowd, and all that exhilarating Abba music was watered down . Once they began to finally vamp the music performance up towards the end, it finally felt like I got a little of what I came there for, but that was not enough for me to recommend it or go to see it again... sorry to say.
